The 6400-02B LED source is designed with red and blue LEDs (665 and 470 nm, respectively) to provide uniform intensities up to full sunlight (~2,000 µmol m-2 s-1) over an area of 6 cm2. Mounting simply requires replacement of the upper half of the standard leaf chamber. Powered from the LI-6400XT console, the 02B allows the light intensity to be automatically controlled, which is especially critical for response curve measurements.

The 6400-09 is a carefully designed 9.55 cm diameter chamber for measuring soil CO2 flux using the LI-6400XT. A pressure equilibration tube, perforated manifold, and automated cycling regime ensure accurate and repeatable measurements. The 6400-09 Soil CO2 Flux Chamber is an accessory that provides additional versatility for the LI-6400XT system. The 6400-09 attaches directly to the sensor head of the LI-6400XT — the mixing fan in the sensor head is used to move air through a perforated manifold in the 6400-09, thoroughly mixing the air in the chamber. OPEN instrument software includes a configuration for the 6400-09, simplifying the switch between photosynthesis measurements and soil respiration.

The 6400-09 includes a soil temperature probe that connects to the LI-6400XT, which allows for temperature measurements to be integrated into the data set. Also included with the chamber are PVC soil collars, gaskets, and hardware to interface the 6400-09 with the LI-6400XT sensor head.

An accessory for the 6400-40 Leaf Chamber Fluorometer that allows you to dark-adapt leaf samples is now available. Each Dark Adapting Clip consists of two “shutters”, and a clip that secures the shutters over the leaf. The Dark Adapting Clip (with the shutters in the closed position) is attached to the leaf; after the leaf is fully dark-adapted, the clip is secured to the Leaf Chamber Fluorometer, the shutters are opened, and the measurement is taken. A kit including 10 clips and 10 sets of shutters is available (part number 9964-091).

Designed for use with thick, fleshy or cylindrical leaves, or leaves with thick vasculature. Thick gaskets are installed on the lower chamber to better conform around irregularly shaped leaves. An increase in distance between the lower and upper chamber halves allows the hinge to clamp evenly, reducing the risk of damage to the leaves.
