5 measurements for rapid control of plant nutrition with only one device
(pH + Activity + EC + Moisture + Temperature)
FAST CONTROL OF PLANT NUTRITION
The new multi-probe is a significant further development of the previous measuring probe for direct salinity ("activity“) measurement in the soilor substrate. In this measurement method, the measurement result depends, besides other factors, on temperature and soil or substrate moisture. These two values can now be measured with the new COMBI 5000 multi-probe.
This is made possible due to a high frequency capacitance measurement integrated into the probe according to the FDR technology in a measuring
range of 0.5% to 80% (volumetric). The temperature measurement is carried out in the range of -10 ° C to + 50 ° C by a fast-reacting NTC sensor spattered in the probe tip.
The activity value is compensated with the temperature measured at the same spot. All required electronic components are located on a 0.9 cm wide board, which is fixed in the probe with a special sealing compound. The housing of the probe is made of fiberglass and allows volumetric moisture measurement by means of high frequency without housing cutouts, as is the case with the stainless steel probe in the newly developed mere moisture meter SWM 5000 for depth measurements in the soil.
Plant growers have now the opportunity to better interpret and classify the directly measured salinity levels. Thus, e.g. at the same moisture, the indicated salinity values are directly comparable. With this innovation, the activity measurement developed many years ago by Prof. Tepe is significantly upgraded and provides the grower with additional important information about the nutrient supply directly in the pot or in the soil.
