Eddy Covariance data from a semi-deciduous forest in India
Using the eddy covariance method to quantify the carbon transfer processes and determine the net ecosystem exchange (NEE) in the Kaziranga National Park in northeast India, scientists studied the bio-meteorology processes of the semi-deciduous forest. In a paper published in Agricultural and Forest Meteorology, Sarma et al. (2022) found that in the pre-monsoon season the forest sequesters carbon; in winter it acts as a carbon source. LI-COR instruments and software–including EddyPro® Software for raw data processing–were used in the study. Whether the forest was a net source or a net sink of carbon varied from year to year.
